Signed with much fanfare at the start of the 2007-8 season, Trinidadian midfielder Spann arrived with a reputation for hitting remarkable free kicks as well as offering box-to-box energy. Although he showed occasional signs of his passing ability, his first experience of life in British football was not a positive one and he was put on the transfer list at the end of the season, although he remains at The Racecourse as no deal has been struck.
